Report: Everton join Aston Villa and Benitez in the race for £12m man

Bristol City defender Adam Webster is reportedly attracting interest from Premier League trio Everton, Aston Villa and Newcastle United.

Everton are keen on the services of Adam Webster, with the Bristol City man already attracting the attention of Aston Villa and Newcastle United, according to a report.

Reports have claimed that Marco Silva’s side have joined the race for the central defenders signature, with Newcastle also wanting the 24-year-old and Villa thought to have made a bid of £12 million for his services.

It is said that Bristol City want bids north of £10 million for Webster, who enjoyed a successful campaign at Ashton Gate last term as Lee Johnson’s side missed out on a top-six finish in the Championship.

Centre-back Webster now has a big decision to make. Does he continue his progress at Bristol City or does he feel that he’s now ready to make a switch to an Everton, Villa or Newcastle?

As things stand, moving to an Everton or Villa would be more viable and realistic because the Magpies are yet to extend the current contract of Rafa Benitez, so they clearly have bigger things to worry about.

For Everton, they had Chelsea loanee Kurt Zouma at the club last season, and the void he has left will need to be filled as Webster, at least in the long term, has the qualities to do that.

Understandably, Everton would seemingly look like the better option given the Toffees current standings, as Webster has some big decisions to make in regards to his future.
